LOCAL IT COMPANY SUPPORTS AIR AMBULANCE
Press Release Press Release

Local IT company, Information Technology Support Associates (UK) Ltd, has come to the rescue of the Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust!

Earlier in the year the Trust had to move its Head Office accommodation and ITSA (UK) helped move all its computers and re-install them in their new location at the SEB offices in Maidenhead. The move went very smoothly and the office was only out of action for a very short time. The charity also took the opportunity to get online to the internet to support its already running website.

With increased office activity surrounding the charity’s fundraising efforts it was recently decided to upgrade the overall IT equipment to assist staff and volunteers. Through the Educational / Charity support programme of Microsoft and their partner, Reading based Computer Essentials Co Ltd, refurbished equipment and new software were purchased to provide the Trust with a system which could cope with the increased demands. ITSA(UK) Ltd again provided their services to set up all the equipment and get things up and running very quickly.

Bob Lee, Director ITSA (UK) Ltd said:

‘ As a company which is focussed on providing all round IT support in the Thames Valley and surrounding area we are pleased to be associated with the Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust, which funds the Air Ambulance operation in the area.

John Kingham, Office Manager and Adminstrator TVAC, said:

‘As a charity we have to be very mindful of any costs which we incur and support such as that given by ITSA(UK) Ltd to enable us to operate efficiently and cost-effectively is very much appreciated.’

ITSA (UK) Ltd can be contacted through their web site www.itsauk.com

Air Ambulance Trust on the move again
Re-location within the SEB Complex
6th September saw the re-location of our offices within the Scottish & Southern Energy complex at Littlewick Green.
Our phone numbers and postal address have not changed but visitors once they are on the site should turn right at the mini-roundabout and then immediately left. Follow the road to the carpark behind the main building and then our office is about halfway along with our sign and a bell on the door.

Golf Club help 999 air ambulance
The Newbury Racecourse Golf Club has presented the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance with a cheque for £550.00.

The cheque was presented to the crew by Men’s Captain, John Taylor, Ladies Captain Carole Scott and Ladies Vice Captain Marion Taylor.

The money was raised throughout the year by members of the club who organised small competitions and suffered silly “Captain’s Fines” during various matches and events. The activities were carried out with good humour in support of the Captain’s chosen charity.

Stevie Horton, Director of Fundraising, said “This is a brilliant amount which is greatly appreciated by the crew. This will save lives in the Newbury area, airlifting patients to hospital within minutes.”

Healing helps helicopter
Brian and Iris Mills of Kingsclere, Berks, recently presented the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust with funds amounting to £1,034.42 which they raised by opening their garden to the public, together with making Christmas Crackers and through Spiritual Healing.

Brian and Iris, who have visited the 999 helicopter at its base in White Waltham and met the crew, said “What a great job the paramedics do – answering 999 calls at a moments notice. We feel we want to support a local charity which could save anyone’s life. We would also like to say “thank you” to all those who helped and for their donations and sponsorship”.

Stevie Horton, Director of Fundraising, said “This donation is amazing and will fund airlifting of patients to hospital within the ‘Golden Hour’, saving lives in the Thames Valley”.

Swearing Saves Lives
The customers at the Falmouth Arms in Woolhampton have been fined for swearing and raise money for the 999 helicopter service. They have also held pool and darts evenings, sponsored slims, quiz nights, raffles and karaoke evenings. In 18 months they have raised an amazing £2,379.00 which will be used to save lives in the Thames Valley.

Landlord and Landlady, Bob and Sue May said

“The pub has an interesting history because on 24 July 1940 Charlie Chaplin’s cousin, Spencer Chaplin, was found fatally wounded outside one of the bedrooms in the pub. What a shame the air ambulance wasn’t around at that time!”

Stevie Horton said

“A brilliant sum to raise from a pub, owned by Eldridge Pope, we couldn’t keep flying without generous donations such as these”
